Iafric (Information-Communication and development in Africa) is a non profit institution animated by volunteers, which has for objective to promote information technologies (ICTs) and development in Africa. It was officially created in October, 2001, but is active since the beginning of 2001.


Iafric works essentially on the following domains : research on ICTs and on ICTS uses for development, production and publication of information on ICTs, organization of meetings, support for the realization of projects, studies on ICTs, trainings... .

Forum IBenin on the development of internet in Benin. This virtual forum was organized by ONG ORIDEV and ISOC-BÉNIN association in 2001 (archives).


IMPORTANT NOTE

Iafric responsibles being currently very busy working on other projects, the association activities are suspended. Updates on ICTs in Africa will still be put on the website, but on the French version.
